I got a new gargoyle gecko last week. She's small still since she's only about 8 weeks old.
She's such a sweet heart. She likes to be hand fed, and I don't mind since she's only about 4 grams.
Whenever I get a real small gecko like that in my home, I like to hand feed them for a bit at first until they get adjusted and I start seeing that they're pooing and putting on weight for me.
She's proving to be a very personable gecko so far. She actually LIKES to be out of her enclosure and on my hand. She's not jumpy, which is odd to me because usually the smaller the gecko, the jumpier they are.
But, I won't complain!
Oh, her name is pronounced "Rayloo".
I'm HOPING that Re-loo is a girl and that my other garg is a boy (like I think he is). If this is how it works, then I will DEFINITELY be pairing the two in the future.
Yes, she has orange blotches on her. And when she's fired up, they really "pop" out on her. I cannot wait to see what she ends up looking like as an adult.
And a few pics of SOME of my other geckos.
Hunky Dory with his AWESOME head structure:
My Chahoua, Pablo Honey, who JUST shed minutes before this picture.
Not the best picture of Ummagumma. She was JUST on the verge of NOT cooperating for pictures when I snapped this. Her red is so vibrant that it's hard to get it captured correctly in pictures because it ends up messing up my white balance!
I REALLY have plans for this gecko. She's gorgeous.
And last, but no least, this is Eli Chimbley, my Petco gecko. He had not a spot on him when I bought him, and now they're popping up all over him.
And his structure is turning out nicely.
That's all for now.
Thanks for looking!
oops, I lied.
I forgot that I snapped these of my biggest crested gecko, Crackity Jones.
He weighed 12.9 grams the other night, and now his "boy parts" are evident, so there's no more wondering if the pores I saw on him at 5 grams were real or pseudo pores!
His structure is NOT very good, but there are STILL people requesting babies from him in the future.
But I have no idea if I am going to breed him or not.
I keep going back and forth. His head structure, well...it could be a LOT better. But he's a gorgeous orange when fired up (which he's not fired up well in these shots at all), and he's a very personable crestie.
What I mean by not-so-great head structure is, where you see the lines of his crests on the sides of his head by his eyes...he should have more actual crests over there. His head could use to be a bit wider, too.
Don't get me wrong, I adore the little bugger. And I will say that his left side is missing a couple crests because when he was young, he went through a difficult shed (it was winter and even though I was misting him twice a day, it just got too dry), and it messed his crests up on the left side.
