The cool season is approaching, and it is more efficient to keep my reptile room warm with a space heater than to keep the whole house warm. My reptile room is about 100 sq ft, and is always closed. Anyone have any recommendations for a safe, reliable space heater that can keep the room at about 76-78 degrees?

I really like my de'longhi oil filled radiator-type electric heater. The electric element heats up the oil in the heater and the hot oil heats your room. I use this in my greenhouse every winter to keep my plants from freezing. I also have one in my bedroom for when I'm too lazy to make a fire. Works like a champ.

I second Yvonne's suggestion of an oil-filled radiator. They take a while to warm up a room, but they will give you a nice consistent heat once they warm up. I have oil heat, and I use these all winter to offset the outrageous cost of heating oil because electricity is so much cheaper in my area.
