Hi
I am buying a new enclosure for my greek tortoise:
The reason is because I am getting a kitten and I with to protect the tortoise.
My questions are about the area the MVB lamp would be (red circle in attached picture).
I have a lamp stand/fixture like the one in the image below:
The bulb is 160WATT.
1) Can I use my lamp stand/fixture with my new enclosure?
2) Can the lamp rest directly on the metal sheet with the small holes in it on the enclosure (red ring area), or is there i minimum safe distance?
3) Would this setup be cat safe in regards to the amount of heat produced by the lamp in the enclosed area (red circle)? Could the cat burn itself if it woule come close to the lap area? Would a lower wattage help?
4) Do UV rays get through the metal sheet with the small holes in it?
