His skin there was pretty red. Like, it used to be much less red but then today it turned like this. There are no notable changes in what he eats or does. Looks pretty active as usual. Should I be concerned?
I think you have a rather colorful RES that is coming of age. Unless it changes radically from what it is towards unhealthy looking, I would not be concerned. It may become even more red as he matures.

He is very angry (or I'd say, fighting back vigorously) when I touch him.
He is fat for sure . Haha His fat rolls maybe rubbing together . My guys are green and yellow . No red skin . I would change the water and clean everything . Put him on a diet . A red ear that age eats mostly vegetation . Drop the protein level a bit . See how that works .
