My tortoise has a red dryer looking spot on both sides of his neck in the same spot. Is this just irritation? I was thinking if it was a parasite or something it wouldn’t be in the same exact spot on both sides.
I put calcium powder on his greens today and I’m not sure that I did that right. When he put his head in his food it ended up all over him.

Try to get a better picture. I can't see what's worrying you.

All the calcium you need is a little pinch between your index finger and thumb. . . not a whole bunch, just a tiny bit.

Oops. Definitely used too much then! Will do better next time!
Not sure if these are any more helpful.

I think i see what you are worried about. Probably dry/irritated skin where it’s rubbing on the shell. Make sure you soak as often as you can. Take your fingers & rub them along the shell there, probably feels rough.
