FACTS ON REARING AND CARING FOR REDFOOT TORTOISES

Late 1998 acquired hatchlings.. they grew to produce eggs in late 2004 -hatchlings in early 2005. One of those left here and created eggs / hatchlings in late 2011 / early 2012.. 2nd GENERATION hatchlings - virtually to the year and month of her mother! SAME CARE!

See Chucky - http://www.tortoiseforum.org/thread-82918.html

Then earlier this month - http://www.tortoiseforum.org/thread-82678.html

SAME CARE!

See the care that contributed and created these events and tortoises here - http://www.turtletary.com/redfootcare.htm

All of this is a result of personal hands-on experience from rearing hatchlings to become proven breeders! I've heard from endless numbers of others that have raised their redfoots or gotten them "in balance" - based on the above care! Is it the only way?.. absolutely not!

The above is however the most complete and detailed on REDFOOT tortoise that I've been told of or researched myself.. with year-by-year pics [ one example ] -

To this in about 4 years.. note date in pics -

Not only does it create perfect growth but they must be healthy! " A sure sign that you are doing it right is when they are happy enough to make babies! "

NOTE: Because this is so detailed / step-by-step.. you are going to need to take time to READ and study the above carefully! There is also text and videos on how to care for "shell-rot"!

This thread is here because of the requests of others stating the info they have found leaves too many gaps or contradicts! Just look at what has been said thru-out this Redfoot community!

I've heard a picture is worth a 1000 words.. your choice...
