Hello,

We would like to adopt/purchase a redfoot tortoise or two. We do have one, named Peso, who we have had for 4 years. We are open to adults or babies and we live on VA.

Thank you!

If you're looking for a buddy for your tortoise don't. They don't like to be in pairs. They will fight . If you want more red footed tortoises I'd get two or three more around the same size. They live well in groups but not in twos .

Tweak.
I'm starting to sound like I own stock in the company, but place a wanted ad for Redfoot in Craigslist.
I was bombarded with free animals from people who were so happy to be giving them to a better home.
And yes. Don't do pairs. And don't do multiples unless you have the rooom.
The best case scenario is a couple hundred square feet with a male and several females...or all females.
And each new animal must be quarantined.
Tortoises are actually better suited to be housed alone.
Redfoot can be kept in herds.
