ReptiSun T8 10.0 VS T5 5.0/10.0

I was wondering what are the differences between the two besides the higher output? I'm using a ReptiSun T8 10.0 and was thinking about switching to a T5, which one would you most recommend using, if switched at all? My current lighting and heat sources are a ReptiSun 18" T8 10.0, Ceramic Heat Emitter 100W, GE Reveal incandescent 100W.

I've never tried this fluorescent bulb and wanted to experiment and see if it makes a difference in growth and activity with my tortoises.
