RES Swollen eye...HELP!!!

I went to feed my red ear sliders today and one of the small ones was under the basking light with a swollen eye!What can cause this?

Thanks for the quick reply.It is only in one eye and it looks like a scratch the more i look at it.The site was very helpful.Thanks again,tom.

It might help if you could get some terramycin eye ointment and put that in his eye. I always keep some on hand as I feel it just seriously helps with eye injuries. When you have numerous turtles and tortoises it's a good idea to have stuff like that on hand.

Its weird how I've come across turtles with eye problems and they're mostly res. Is that too much of a coincidence in what I've read?

And yes terramycin is good stuff. I know someone who swears by it.
