Hi all,

I am from India (Delhi) and own two RES tutles. I wanted to know about the basking lights if I can use the UV LED lights for the UVB lights and please see the link (actually it is not made for that purpose but suites my budget)

Link to the UV light

It emits light in the same wavelength range but I am concerned about if it can harm the eyes of of my RES.

For heating purpose I will be using some other bulb which will serve the purpose.

Thanks in advance,
Cheers,
Long live the pets!!
:)

I'm not an expert, but I believe that is not a uvb light. So it wouldn't do any good. Welcome.

I'm not an expert on lights but I'm sure the other members will be able to help.

Hi Anid, and welcome to the Forum!!

The literature on that light only says it emits UV, but not what actual kind of UV. Your turtles need a UV B light. I don't think that light is what you want. Sorry.

From that page it says the following about the light emitted: Peak Wave Length (nm) : 395 ~ 405. That would mean it is UVA. UVB is between 280-320nm.
