I’ve rescued a tort i need some advice. She has bad bad pyramiding. And is wheezing. A friend of mine had her. I didn’t like how she was kept and walked out with her. Told her the care wasn’t acceptable. And is damn right cruel.

she was in a 2 foot viv. Wood chip substrate Barely covering the floor no hide. A shed load of hey. A tiny water bowl that she couldn’t climb in and out of. How can I improve her wheezing? I’m used to red foots. This is whole new ground for me.

Here is the little lady.
She is now in a 5ft tort table. With a 3 in one bulb. Which I need to get the reflector for tomorrow as I only picked her up today. As I only have orchard bark Due to having pumpkin I’ve given her that along with a hide. A big water bowl and Cuttle fish which she devoured so on her second one. She also has a plant.

I'm sure you know the biosecurity routine, but keep her quarantined from your other reptiles and make sure you're cleaning hands and any equipment between handling different tortoises (as well as your beardie). Just to be on the safe side. :)
Yes I’m doing that. I’ve never experienced a respiratory infection and from what Clair has said it’s been going on for around 4 week

Beautiful tort. Your friend did not care you walked away with her pet? I’m glad she is getting the care she needs but couldn’t you have educated your friend?

I tried to tell her before she wouldn’t listen to me just said she’s been ill and not eaten for 2/3 week.everything i said she argued against it. She wasn’t happy Big then said call it £50. Which I’ve done so technically I’ve brought her. but seriously a 2foot viv. No end of hey and wood chip substrate that didn’t even cover the base.
I told her 3 weeks ago wasn’t good enough. And told her she needs bigger and space. Also told her she needs hides. Plants. And a water dish twice her size so she can get in and out.
She said she’s doing what pet shop told her. Told her it’s all wrong. And she will loose the tort but she wouldn’t listen to me. Stated a pet shop knew more to which I replied they know nothing.

Sounds like you tried hard to educate her. At least she can’t take it back since you paid her.

looks like the beginning of mbd to me. the light probably wasn't changed frequently if at all to provide adequate uv levels.

Just about to bath her and noticed her back legs and front are always like this. If I remember right from previous posts I have read up on here with this issue does this mean she has been kept on a hard service? And will it correct in time? She’s in her bath waiting for water. Hence why quick pic.
