That's going to be a sweet setup... Congrats... For water dishes, in my Russian enclosures they drink out of a Pyrex Glass Pie plate. Easier to tell if the water is mucky mid-day...

Good Idea! My lady did that and she forgot to line it with something like a pond lining. The wood absorbed some water and started to mold... watch out for that and make sure it has a lining in it!

Yeah I'm thinking of lining it with ply wood and then putting a pond liner on it so the ply wood would reinforce it will the liner would prevent mold.

Love the idea of repurposing an old bookshelf with lining to use as an enclosure. I am new and considering getting my first tortoise, and this is an idea I plan to write down and keep in mind as I have had a hard time finding something I would like that would provide a fair amount of room.
