Hello. Im new to the forum, and I have an issue (I think) with my Russian Tortoise. I believe she might be going through a big growth spurt, however I am unsure, since this is my first reptile. Here are some pictures:
The white lines going in between her shell pieces. Thanks for your help!
Fast growth, maybe from too much food, but at least more than she's used to having. The typical guideline is given them everything they can eat in about 20 mins once a day and then take away what's left. In the typical inside enclosure they just don't get the exercise they need to work off more than that and they will stuff themselves when food is left too long. It often takes a lot of walking in the wild to get full.
I'm seeing growth, but not fast growth. What I am seeing is uneven growth from not growing in a while and not having a humid hide. A humid hide will help "unstick" the scute seams, so she can grow more evenly.
