I have a feeling that’s topic has probably been discussed before but I’m gonna ask again. So I have 2 tortoises: Nova, my redfoot tortoise and pancake, my elongated tortoise. What are some safe plants I can put in both my redfoot tortoise Enclosure and my elongated tortoise enclosure?? I’ve been doing a lot of research on different plants that are said to be safe/edible for tortoises but I just want some opinions from fellow tortoise owners before I make any final decisions. Any suggestions??

For an indoor enclosure, pothos, Boston fern, spider plants, prayer plants, African violets, bromeliads are all safe. But remember that you need to find plants that have not had pesticides used on them. Ideally, you would grow your own plant from seeds or cuttings. You can also check with family and friends for plants that chemicals have not been used.

For outdoor enclosures, I don't know what would survive your MI winters.

Any time you find a plant you like, you can check its safety on this site.
