First is dandelion and is very good as a food for your tortoise. Fourth is a berry of some type, blackberry or raspberry also very good for your tortoise. With the berry vine, you want to be sure and remove the center vein that has those spikes on the underside of the leaf. Also be sure to remove any of the redwood needles from the trees that are dried. These are not in and of themselves toxic for your tortoise, but the pointed ends can be a source of injury to the fleshy parts of the mouth or eyes.yensao said:Found some weeds on the trail, are they safe to feed tortoises?

Cats ear has furry leaves. It's drought hardy and tougher than dandelion.
