Hello everyone!

I teach fifth grade in St. Louis, MO, USA. For many years, my beloved Greek tortoise, Alfie, was our classroom pet. He died at the end of last school year, and so we recently adopted a Russian tortoise, Peggy. She is awesome, and the kids love her!

Just wanted to say hi!

Hello, Eileen, and a very warm welcome to Tortoise Forum to you and Peggy.
Sorry to hear about Alfie.
Pictures of Peggy would be nice if you could manage it.

Hi! How well do you think tortoises work as classroom pets? What has been the best part and what the worse having one?

Hello and Welcome to the forum.

I adopted (with the fee) three Hermanni from a teacher also few years back. She give them up to have rabbit as classroom pet. I'm glad now you have Peggy.

Good to have you all (Peggy and all the fifth grader) here.
