We got Shelly a month ago from a friend who couldn't keep her new baby away from the shellback. I've been learning all I can to provide a better living situation for Shelly.
I don't believe she had proper lighting or diet(mostly fed lettuce).
We are building a new enclosure, and give her as much(supervised)time outside as
possible. She seems content, we are planning a trip to the vet soon.
I've grown very attached to the little creature, she is just adorable! IMG_20180728_194512_121.jpeg

Welcome! Russians are the best. :)

Do read the care sheets; information you find elsewhere, even from a vet, may be out of date.

I bought my two torts before I knew the severity of abuse in pet stores and some reptile shows like where I got mine. I respect those who rescue rather than buy...so congrats on not only a new friend, but for not supporting such practices. My next tort WILL be a rescue. Watch her like a hawk, they are literally distant relatives of Houdini and can escape when you LEAST expect it lol.
