What are you sealing? Indoors or out? Closed space or open top with free circulation? Is any sealer really okay if you let it sit long enough?

yep it'll be for the outdoor enclosure i want to seal the wood from the elements. Open top, 8x4 feet and i want to add your double door night box build as well. But this is mainly so he can get some natural sunlight but i want to try to get him to sleep out there if the temps are nice. What are you sealing? Indoors or out? I paint the outsides of my boxes, but usually leave the insides unpainted. For a 4x8 outdoor sunning enclosure, I would leave it untreated, and then just cover it in the rain. I think it would also be fine to prime and paint the inside too and just let it air out for a few days before use.yep it'll be for the outdoor enclosure i want to seal the wood from the elements. What species of tortoise and what size? I ask because if its small enough to use a 4x8, I probably wouldn't want it staying outside at night. Babies do better when kept mostly indoors. If its not a baby, then 4x8 might be to small. I'm just guessing at possibilities since I don't know what we are talking about.
