Hi everyone. :shy:
I'll have a Hermann's tortoise soon, so I'm trying to get my tortoise table all ready for her coming!

So far I have:

100w spot bulb
Ceramic bulb holder
Plug in thermostat
Repti glo 10.0 tube
Arcadia fluorescent lighting controller
Arcadia reflector strip
Digital Thermometer
Wooden hide
Limestone Flour
Cuttlefish bones
Nutrobal

I've still to buy my topsoil/play sand for substrate, water dish, and slate/stones etc.

The box I'm planning on using for my tortoise table is just a wooden under bed storage box. It is 30.5"x25.5" and 16" deep. I'll be replacing this with something bigger soon.

I'll also be making an outside enclosure and have her out as often as possible, which might not be too much considering the weather in Scotland..

Does this all sound okay? Have I missed anything?
I'm terrified I'll end up doing something wrong.

Thank you. :)

Hello! Looks good to me so far. I have to say I have no idea what limestone flour is or what its used for! One thing I find very handy (and run around like a maniac using), is a temperature gun. It makes it very easy to check your temperatures all over :) Make sure you post some pictures once you get it all put together, I look forward to seeing it!

Thanks for your reply. :D

Limestone flour/powder is just another form of calcium, thetortoisetable.org says it's 38% calcium. :)

A temperature gun is a great idea, but I might need to save a little for it as they can be pretty pricey from what I've seen. :p
Edit: Oh, I just found one on Amazon for £14.99, do you think that would work okay?

I also need something to hang my basking bulb from, but I think I'll just get my Dad to make that from wood.

I'll definitely post pictures, I can't wait until it's all done!
