Is this OK? He won't touch his cuttlebone, but will eat any spilled suppliment like it was candy. Can I just give him a little pile instead of going thru the trouble of dusting his food every day? I'll just grind up the cuttlebone and give that to him in a dish.

BTW, Sherman is a 7 month old marginated.

As long as he is eating it, it doesn't matter if he has to gnaw it off the cuttlebone himself or just eats it once you have done the honors. I would still leave a piece of cuttlebone in there, in case he decides to do some gnawing which I think helps to wear the beak a bit. Especially since he a youngster, be sure he is actually eating it, not just walking in it.
