Should I separate my tortoises?

I have two Hermann Tortoises. One male and the other female. The male is around 12/13 years old and the female is around 11. They've been together for about 2 years and the male is always chasing her (once he's woken up usually). They sometimes sleep near each other but apart from that the female gets chased around and the male tries to mount her constantly. I feel bad for her and want to split them up. Is it advisable to do so?

Most deffinitely YES!! If they live outside with lots of space and visual barriers they can stay together, but indoors in a smallish habitat she most assuredly needs time by herself.

Ditto,,he could bother her into getting sick or even death. It's not a good thing. Also, this is one of the reasons it's good to have more then one female to one male. That way he spreads his constant chasing onto more then one tort and gives the tort he is not chasing a break.
