Hi
I have a female Russian tortoise who started making squeaking noises last week, followed by edema in the rear legs.
After 2 vet apts, bloodwork and x rays i have been told she has pneumonia. I have to give shots and nebulize her 2 x day.
I have her in her tank most of the time now as I’m afraid she will get worse outside. Has anyone had a tortoise recover from pneumonia?

It's important to keep the overall enclosure temperature about 85°F day and night while she's sick. It helps to cover the enclosure.

I have a CHE and had to move her to a smaller tank in order to keep the temp above 85. I’m scared I’m going to cook her ?

If you set a thermostat to come on at 85°, it will come on, then go off a few degrees warmer. I don't know exactly how warm it gets over the 85°, but I don't think it would be 95°. I'm thinking maybe 90°. It would shut off at 90°, and come back on at 85°. Just like your home thermostat for your furnace.
