Doesn't the title sound like one of those cheesy commercials? Rain, sleet, more rain, and now snow for the rest of the day. The snow acts as a natural buffer for the turtles and tortoises against the cold. And turns your dogs into speed demons that challenge you to a boxing match, which I gladly oblige in.

I looked at my empty outdoor enclosure for Matilda as it sat with 10"
of snow on the heavy wire screen lid and imagined she would have been "refrigerated".....never thought about the igloo effect....snow sure was fun though!

That seems to be the prevailing sentiment in the Balt-DC-Richmond triangle too Tim, prob for both species!

Now don't bust me for the desert-appearance of Matilda's renovated home, she'll be setup once I can get to the yard again for grasses....but she was up already this morning so I took the pic....

I swear I could hear her say

"What are you pulling this time jeff and what the heck is that white stuff?? NO, I won't pose for you, it's 2;30 in the morning!"

She had no interest at all and merely observed patiently, then as the ball was reduced by the lamp to half it's size, she turned and went into her cave......
