Hello there, I am very pleased to have the chance to join this community and hopefully I can get some answers to my questions before orderring my red-foot.

1: I have a custom built pexi-glass tank measured 24"x24"x18" LxWxH. is that big enough to start two baby red-foots?

2: I have this Mega-Ray 60w flood UV light (see link) http://www.reptileuv.com/megaray-eb-60-watt-flood-uvb-lamp-kit.php from a friend who had a bearded dragon. would this work for red foots as well ?

3: I need a very detailed care sheet with detailed info on lightning, heating and diet. could anyone post a link ?

4: I found a website in which they are selling red-foot babies for $400 a pair shipped. is it a good deal? is there any reliable online breeders that you'd recommend ?

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR ANY INPUT !!

Look around the site www.turtletary.com The pictures of his redfoots speak for themselves. He is a member of this forum and will take good care of you.

1. For about the first 6-18 months, it will be OK, but aquaria-like tanks are not considered the best for Red-foots- they can become very swampy and stagnant.

2. To barbecue them, the Mega Ray is great. To properly care for them, it is a lot of light. My baby habitat uses a 7w night light and I would go smaller if I could find one. Babies do not like light, and there is a lot of debate about the UVB needs of Red-foots (while dragons, iguanas, etc. NEED it)

3. http://www.redfoots.com is the best sheet out there for babies. Not the ONLY way to care for them, but a simple and effective way.

4. Prices are notoriously variable. A baby Red-foot can run from $75 to $250 or more, depending on color and other issues. Shipping 2 babies runs about $60 in most of the US. http://www.turtletary.com is my fave.
