So I found this little guy about 3 days ago on my sidewalk all dried up, caked up with what I'm assuming was mud and booooy did he STINK!! I seriously thought he was dead but decided to run some water over him to be 110% sure and sure enough he was still kickin lol
I'm not sure if its a baby alligator snapper or just a baby common snapper turtle though....
I have no idea where he could have came from bc there's absolutely NO WATER around us.. well there's the Arkansas river but it's about 25 miles away so I'm at a loss of how he got here
Right now I have him in an old litter box the kind that have lids on them but without the lid and I intend to buy a proper set up for him with all the proper supplies ASAP
He does have his logs, area to get out of the water and some grass I seen growing in the ditch with water so I assumed they were water plants lol and he's able to hide away out of site comfortably as well.I also went out and dug up several baby crawfish, some night crawlers and a snail that I put in there with him and he devoured those worms within minutes but before I added them to the tank I didn't have anything to feed him so I offered him some salmon which he absolutely loved! He's eating great though. Anybody have any idea how old he could possibly be?? And Is it an AST or just the common snapper? Somebody please help any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated!
