Hey, everyone! Long time no see :)
I came outside to check on Curtis, and there appears to be something in his eye causing him discomfort. It seems like it’s really bothering him, and I’m not sure if it’s just some debris or an actual part of his eye that’s damaged. The other eye is completely fine and normal.

Anyone have ideas to help him out? I’ve tried to wash it out a little, but I’m not sure if it’s working. I’m going to soak him next.

I’ll try to get better pictures soon if I can.

Here’s a video where you can really see it. Really not sure if it’s part of his eye or debris.

Man, that was a really unlucky time for the site to go down for maintenance

He doesn’t seem to have as much of an appetite as he normally does, but is eating the mazuri I offered him. Have not seen him graze, and he didn’t go for the dandelion I gave him.

After trying to wash it out, it doesn’t appear to be leaving. Should I keep him in a sterile environment until it gets sorted? I think a vet visit might be in order.

would it be worth buying turtle eye drops?

It DOES look like something soft laying on the eyeball. . . a piece of leaf or something. It doesn't look like it's going to come out on its own. You may have to have him sedated to get at it.

That's something I was worried about. Would you say this requires a vet visit, and if so, how urgent? I'll have turtle eye drops as soon as my mom gets home with it in an hour or so.

GOOD NEWS! After a long soak in the bathtub, he managed to get it out! I gave him a few eyedrops to make sure he's alright, but he seems fine. Almost had a bit of a problem when I was bringing him back outside and rolled my ankle on the way down the stairs, but I sacrificed my knees to keep him from hitting the floor. He's worth a pair of skinned knees, I guess... ;)

Thanks for the help!

So pleased that's resolved itself.
I gently drip some saline solution that contact lens wearers into my torts eyes if he seems to have a problem.
