Hello everyone! I was browsing online and i found a local breeder of greek Testudo graeca ibera tortoise 2-3 hour away from my house! He has some1 year olds and i wanted to know, can you tell the sex of the tortoise at that age? if so what are the signs i need to look for if i want a male? please help! ill be getting my new tort in a couple of days and would love to get some knowledge of how to pick out the one i want! =) thnks for the infor! hope to hear from you guys soon!

It will be hard to tell most likely at that age.Male's will be smaller, bigger tails and a slight dip in the bottom of there shell.female's larger, smaller tails and flat on the bottom of the shell.

No chance. One year old is far too young to be able to tell with cetainty. They can be 'incubated to be' a particular gender, but there are no guarantees.

They need to 4-5 inches long before you have any chance of accuracy with the gender.
