[split] new w/question about star tortoise

Can I pet a star only without get it stressed? or must I put it more than one in an enclosure?

I'm interested to pet an indian star

Some people have interaction with their tortoises, and some people don't. Its all up to you and how your tortoise reacts.

In my opinion, tortoises belong in a large, safe outdoor enclosure and are to be looked at and not touched. And you don't need more than one. They get along just fine all alone.
