Hi guys, I have some questions. On average how much does it cost to take a tort to the vet and have them do this (trim nails and beak)? And what tools would be needed to do it later on my own?
Thanks :)

It's different at every vet you visit all around the country...even different between vets in the same city. I would say it would be under $100.

You will need either a big toe nail clipper or a Dremmel tool. I use a clipper on smaller turtles and the Dremmel on the larger ones.

I would call your locale reptile vet and ask. In Chicago, it's 95.00 just to walk in the door.

No problem. That's why we are here. It's just not going to help you much. It's such a wide range of pricing. You would be better off just calling your area reptile vets and seeing who is the cheapest. Plus, do you know that if you feed them on a piece of tile or flat rock that will help keep their beaks filed down. Also, some flat ruff rocks in the enclosure will help also with the nails.
