I have a Russian desert tortoise and if I just give him a handful of Iceburg lettuce he stretches his neck out happily.ImageUploadedByTortForum1387765715.098144.jpg

Tortoise feeding.

The only thing you don't give to torts or turtles for any reason is iceberg lettuce
It has no value to it

Variety for vitality! Your little Russian needs more than iceberg. Iceberg does not have enough nutritional value and eventually the tortoise starts to decline. My rule is at the very least 5 different things a day, a rainbow a day ,or 5 shades of green. And Russians are big lovers of weeds, so easy peasy. Just be sure the weeds have not been in an area that has been fertilized or pesticide sprayed.

Here is a link I think you will like! : )
