Lovely !
I hope that some day one of your kids take Spur when you are old. That is a wonderful idea.
I have no children that could take my torts.

How old is Spur now ?

That is the plan! I’m sure one of them will as they will all grow up together, if not the grandkids will ;)

Spur is just over a year old, his hatch date is November 5!

He is heavy for his age ! My biggest one weighted 550 gram at the age of one year.

Spur wasn’t much more than that at 1 year, I was afraid he wasnt growing enough because he spend his first year in Alaska but I made sure he had as good of a diet that I could get my hands on. But now that we’re back in Texas I feel like his growth has really sped up, I know part of that is him peaking his first year but it’s a much better environment for tortoises! They all grow at different rates as well :)

Yeah, they grow in different rates. My sullies are 19 months old and the biggest one, my "Leo" weights 1.870 gram. Because I live in Germany my torts must spend much time inside, but it seems that this doesen`t matters.:D

That’s pretty good size! But it does still get hot in Germany during the Summer months right?

Last summer 2017 was very rainy and "cold". Only some rare really hot days. My torts had been outside 12 days the whole summer but they enjoyed every single day ! I hope the summer 2018 will be better.

Baby girl giving Spur a treat. I pray she always has a love for animals. I love watching her around the house when he’s out, she’s always so gentle with him and makes sure to say “Hi Spur” whenever she sees him.
