Spur thighed gender/ sexing

Hi would really appreciate everyone’s thoughts on my spur thighed tortoise. We thought she was female. But now not sure. She shows male behaviour towards my other female spur thighed (confirmed female by vet) and the tail is longer/ sits to the side compared to my female who has a short tail. She has also shown the sex organ many times but as we know females show sometimes too we are not sure. She is 8 years old. Her shell is hinged and slightly concaved. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

No need to be unsure any longer. I have raised and bred tortoises and turtles for 66+ years. You definitely have a male there.

You are welcome. I got my first turtles in 1953 and kept turtles and tortoises continuously from then until 2019.

In which state is your Rochester? Just curious.

I’ve got two Testudo graeca. I’ve had them since they were 8months and they did live together until I had to separate about 3 years ago because this one doesn’t leave my female alone. What do you have?

I have 4 girls med spur thighed two at 12 weeks one at 15 weeks n one at 16 months.ss
