Hello everyone :)
Just posting an update on my Ibera Greek Tortoise hatchling, Squirtle :D

Made just a few changes to his enclosure.
Mixed a fresh batch of Eco Earth, added to his enclosure & tidied up a bit.

Found our poor baby flipped on his back about 2 weeks ago so I've removed his half log, which he never uses, & replaced it with two flower pots dug into the substrate.

One is placed on his cool side, & the other in his basking area. He's actually slept in both as well! :D

Also purchased a 60W Che which I use at night to keeps his temps between 78-80 degrees at night. No longer have to dig our little tort out in the morning, he now wakes up on his own.

Just purchased some Mazuri Tortoise Diet from Petco today. Excited to use it. Do I merely add water & mix it with his Spring Mix Greens?? What other Greek tortoise approved foods can I mix it with?

Only thing that concerns me at this point with our little one (well, something always concerns me lol) is I've noticed he's getting chunky :s
Almost bloated looking

I feed him a small saucer pot amount of food everyday. What he's eating in the photo is what he gets every day. He picks on and off all day. But he never finishes everything in the saucer. There's always greens left over by the next day.

Soak him once a day for 20min each time.
Witness him poop every other day not every day anymore. Some times every 3rd day. Although I have caught him with a black mouth quite a few times :dodgy:
Included photos of his chunkier self.
Should I be concerned?

I've included more photos of our Squirtle as well :D

I can't answer any of your questions but he is soooo adorable and your enclosure is seriously beautiful. It looks so organized, and the little plants bring life into it. I love it!

Thank you very much for the comment :D
Very much appreciated! Love that with our tort being as small as he is, it's pretty easy to clean up after him. But we shall see how long that lasts lol

All of the plants in his enclosure (which are all fake) were all purchased from the dollar store. Great investment & our tort has never tried to eat them. :D

Thank you very much! Love both of our little Torts :D

Greatly appreciated, thank you! :)

And the verdict is in!
Squirtle loves Mazuri :D He's been chowing away for 10 minutes now.

Very nice enclosure, just wonder what the humidity is in there? Baby greeks should have 50 -70 %.

With his new batch of Eco Earth, the lowest it gets is about 40%.
But then I merely spray it down & the humidity stays between 55-60% throughout the day

This is shortly after a spraying :)
The lowest I've seen the humidity get is 46% during the day.
The 16% low was from when I took the digital meter out to clean his enclosure.

Thank you all for your responses! :D

Does anyone have advice on the bloating?

What a lil cutie! Am the proud owner of Herbert a 23 month old Ibera as well, they have such amazing characters. Herbert is also a fan of climbing, he seems to be confused between tortoise and monkey. Will pop some pics up of my little guy when Im done with work

Thank you very much! :D
And a 23 month old you say?
So cute. Extremely excited to see how our little ones appearance will change once they're at that age.
Excited to see photos of your tort!
Of course post as soon as possible! :D

This little one already can't wait for his next fix.
He's addicted :s lol
