After months of using a big tote for my sully, I think it's time to build one out of wood with actual Che's and temp controls. I plan on doing this with a hinged lid (made of wood) with two smaller lids for quick feeding. I want this to be 2 foot tall, 4 foot long, and 2 foot wide with 3 wood sides and one glass side to see. Does anyone got any suggestions or tips, ps this is just for the winter and humidity factor to help his shell

This one is close to that size. It's a little taller and wider but is 4' long. Very easy to build and holds humidity well. I have changed a lot on the inside adding plants and cactus pads. I changed the front from plexiglass to glass because that high humidity warped the plexiglass and it was a pain.ImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1425487330.997314.jpgImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1425487342.714945.jpg

Mine is super smooth, eats really good and has grown pretty quickly. I totally believe in Tom and the closed chamber concept

4x2' is a good size for a hatchling. An 8" tortoise needs at least 4x8', especially if it will be spending months at a time in it over a cold winter.
