A biologist and tortoise rescuer had two 60 & 80 pound Sulcatas stolen from her yard in Ventura California.
Here is a link to the news article. Lets hope for a good outcome for these guys.

Boy! That's a close resemblance! He could be lying about the size... That zip code is Walnut...my in-laws live in Rowland Heights and Walnut is only about 5 miles away from RH...are Africa and Dumpling microchipped?

I heard on the radio that they were returned. Some guy saw 2 teenage boys carrying them down the street. When the guy stopped the boys put them down and ran, The guy took them to his house and returned them.

OMG! What luck! So if they guy hadn't been going by at the right time, those boys might have gotten away with it. It's good to hear that they had a little bit of guilt...enough to make them drop the tortoises and run! :p

They must have been some pretty burly teenagers, carrying an 80 pound tortoise down the street is no easy task!

This is why its important to have your tortoise pen in the middle of your yard, and your rottweiler pen around the perimeter.
