My tortoises are fed mainly on grape leaves, hibiscus leaves and opuntia pads. Sometimes they get some veggies.

I was thinking of buying a jade plant to add some variety, however, from what i could gather, jade plants are succulents (same as opuntias). So what do you guys think? Would it be worth it to buy the jade plant or just stick with the opuntias?

I'm not sure what species you keep, but diet variety is always good. Nutrient differences between species is unquestionably different, in fact it can be different within a species and even the same leaves on a single plant (due to environmental factors, unlikely it's really significant though). I will say succulents, as a group, can have a laxative effect, that's one thing they generally hold in common (aloe vera, opuntia, hens n' chicks, etc.).

I feed jade plant from time to time. I don't know that I'd make it a staple.

Ok thanks for the help guys. I'd be better off spending my money on hay. Thanks
