I had to go back and look at those pics twice. Going for thirds now...

A photo of a pair of twins.

Do they share a yolk sack?

Interesting question. The answer is, all twins I have hatched have shared a common yolk. I see these every year; I've hatched dozens of sets of twins over the years. Also many animals with dead, small barely developed twins.

Some of the twins have appeared oddly identical-looking, even in comparison of shell minutia.

Before they hatched, was there any indication that there may be twins inside? Was the egg larger, heavier, or oddly shaped?

No, all normal eggs. As I've wrote here before, the oddball eggs don't hatch, with only one exception I've seen out of hundreds of examples.

Thanks for the comments everyone! :)

Someone asked earlier about burrowing....are these guys big burrowers? I'm impressed with my 18" Sulcatta's burrowing ability (last burrow was 18' long and went down about 3 feet deep). Thanks in advance. Doc

Thanks, to answer the questions, I see 2-3 or more twins every year so twins are not a rare occurrence themselves, but as a percentage of overall hatchlings per year, they quite uncommon.

No, the two headed specimen is not alive.

That's amazing! How long did it survive?

I euthanise and pickle stuff like that, I don't keep them alive; the quality of life would be terrible.

How large are yours, are you sure of their gender?
