Taking care of tortoise in these times

I haven't posted for a while.

Our desert tortoise is about to wake up any day.

As I write up our disaster list for care of our cats in case something happens to us (knock on wood), I'm also making one for our dear 60+ year old family tortoise.
We don't have anyone in the family who can take care of her.

I would like to find the name of an organization that could rescue her and find her a new home.
I will put this organization in our "Tortoise book" in case of emergency.
I hope to never use it.

I am in San Francisco Bay Area.
I posted twice before - once when she was submerged in a freak rain before her winter's brumination period - she survived.
and once when she was digging and not eating - eggs were produced shortly thereafter.

Thanks!

Janet

Hi Janet:

There isn't a northern California chapter of CTTC, but there ARE two reputable turtle rescues up there: Felice Rood - [email protected], 916 421-1134 and Kevin Nored - tortoisehome.org, 408 482-5437
