Here is Tallulah when we found her in 2003. As you can see she suffered from severe pyramiding.ImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1503852001.111399.jpgImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1503852014.022801.jpg

Eventually she went to live with my grandmother for about three years. When my grandmother passed, Tallulah came back. These were taken in 2010.

I realized that it had been another seven years since the original post. Here she is in all her glory and Boscoe is still around. Again he is in there for scale.ImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1503852229.257290.jpgImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1503852241.023125.jpgImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1503852253.985052.jpgImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1503852266.116809.jpgImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1503852278.701955.jpgImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1503852291.786202.jpg

So for all those that wanted to know the long term effects of pyramiding and how they grow when placed in the right conditions, I give you Tallulah through the years.

Great job - great photos. Talulah looks great, such a difference in the pyramiding. And you got to love Boscoe.

Wonderful example of pyramiding followed by years of smooth growth.
Lovely photos of beautiful tortoise . (and a sweet dog).

She continues to look better and better. I love her name. Does she still lay eggs?

Looks like she had some significant MBD going on too. What a nice recovery! You've given this tortoise so many years of a great life. :)

That's amazing. She's so much more domed too. I have a male and female that look like Tallulah did in your first picture. I often wonder if there will be problems if the female ever becomes gravid because she looks so flat. This gives me hope.

She lays eggs like a champ. The larger the female the more eggs and the larger the eggs. Better chance of hatchlings from those eggs. She is a fam favorite. Tallulah meant so much to my grandmother, she will always be in the family. It was really amazing to see the reaction ship between my grandmother and Tallulah. They were meant for each other. Now Tallulah is PART of the LARGER (than my tortoise nerd family) part of the extended family for the joy she brought to my grandmother.

Such a great story. You're as lucky as she is.

Great to see the progression. Very hopeful for the torts that came from poor conditions.
