I have a Sulcata tortoise who is about 4 1/2 inches long. Since spring I have been keeping him outside to roam the yard and graze and would bring him in at night. Obviously the summer time temperatures where I live in Texas are fine. My question is what are the minimum temperatures it should be to allow him outside to graze on the grass?

At only 4 inches, they really shouldn't be outside all day. Temperature and humidity really don't matter. Its really not good for babies.

As for the minimum temp, there are several factors to consider. If its dry, sunny, not windy, and not humid, I'd say 65 is fine. Use a temp gun and check ground and carapace temps frequently. If its wet after a rain, or windy or over cast, then I think 65 would be too cold.
