Has anyone had any experience with this particular topper? The ingredients seem to be okay...

I appreciate the suggestion and info. I do have quite a lot of fresh weeds and flowers for my tortoise at the moment, and I can reason with what you said about not needing the dry supplement (at least in the summer). I also agree that it would be wise to hold off on the blind purchases, and wait until the food is needed. The Tyler herbal hay is a great product from a trusted source. The only thing I will say about it is that 16 ounces is a LOT for one redfoot tortoise. If any tortoise will power through it, it’s probably a redfoot but if you are overloaded with good foods (looks like you are growing seeds in a mild California climate and you’ve got access to some weeds), you may not need any dry supplement, whether it’s one ounce or six. I ended up making an incredible fragrant bath soak out of my Tyler hay, when I was new and buying everything; my California tortoise wasn’t interested. I could have found a way to sneak it in but I came to see she really didn’t need it. Maybe you could hold off a little on this purchase? It’s more common as a mix in for people who can’t get a wide variety or for winter when food variety drops.
Again, no problem with the product, just didn’t need it in the long run.
