These "little" guys have been hatching out over the past week. They were layed by a female that usually layes normal size eggs. She layed 4 normal clutches, this "special" clutch, and then normal cluthces again. These guys are half the size of all their sibling clutches. They are not runts, as all hatched out in the normal incubation period, had normal size yolk sacks and all left the nursery in the normal period of time. They are Great eaters, very active and healthy. Oh, pretty soon they will need loving homes :)

Great lookin little dudes!! SO the only difference was the size of the eggs themselves? No difference in appearance or size of the torts? Interesting.

Very cool! If you don't keep any of them, you definitely need to keep track of where they go so you can see how develop over the years. Has anyone seen this before?

Do these have the same mom/dad as my Humphrey? Their markings are so similar. Especially the one with the little "bat" pattern above his tail. They are real cuties. It will be fun to follow them to see if they stay smaller.

Back in , I believe 1960 I had a pair of wild caughts that I peronally captured and imported in to the states, Those animals produced a clutch similar to this one.
