Thermostat setup

So I'm a little confused about my thermostat set up. My enclosure is 5'x4'. I have a CHE on the right side and the left side of the enclosure set on a thermostat at 85. Now according to the "instructions" I would put the probe close to my heat source. Wouldn't this make it cut off before the entire enclosure made it to the set temp? Wouldn't I want to put the probe in the center of my enclosure so the CHE will shut off when the entire enclosure gets to set temp?

Hmmm. That actually seems to a good idea, but then the side that the CHE is on is hotter than the rest... and if you put it close, eventually the heat might spread outward, creating an ambient room temp. Just me Hope someone else answers!

I put the probe far away from the heat source.

My CHE is in the center, so the probe is in the back corner.
My tort house heater is on the left, so the probe is on the right.

In your case with a CHE on each side, I'd put the probe in the middle.

Ok that's what I did. They are eating good and very active so I just wanted to double check and make sure I was ok with that.
