This a good sized enclosure for a tortoise

It turns out the subspecies I have is more likely to only be 6in.
They still need a descent size enclosure. Even a small Russian needs more room then what most think or give. That pool looks too small. There are larger pools like that. The biggest one might work.

apart from the terrible substrate this a good sized enclosure for an 8in. Herman's tortoise.
That is the smaller sized kiddie pool. It would be okay for a baby, but too small for an adult. The larger sized pool can work well as an outdoor sunning enclosure with proper attention to shade and more cover.

Glad you realize that substrate is no good. And the ramped bowl is a good way to kill a tortoise too.
