I was at the zoo today and I was surprised to see adult Asian Browns and Burmese Stars in the same habitat. Are they from similar regions where it's safe to do this?

They both can be found in the same nation of Myanmar(formerly Burma) but the platynota favor the drier lower election lands whereas the Manouria will inhabit more of the higher elevation mountains and slopes. In a way they are found in same regions but different microclimates.

Won't the size be a problem when they become adults ? With adult emys being double or more of that of an adult star .

Zoos don't always do the right thing in caring for the animals. The zoo in my town does worse species mixing than this.

Can't agree more , beside mixing sp , there's some kept the wrong way ie wrong type of substrate or inappropriate diet !!
