Hello everybody! We're getting three red ear slider hatchlings on Thursday.

Yes, I am completely aware of the size they can get and that they aren't very "easy" to take care of.

We're getting them from my moms friend who has them living in a sink or something? I'm not really sure what condition they'll come in. When they do get big, we'll get a Kiddy pool.

We will get crickets and earthworms as well as veggies and a little bit of pelleted food.

But I've never owned aquatics, and I'm really jazzed!

I know the water temperature, what to feed them, size, lifespan, etc.

I've done loads of research, but does anybody have some care tips?

Just a horse troughs buried in the ground . I got the filters from Home Depot . Biological mechanical and UV filter in the picture I think I paid a little over one hundred bucks for it . There's another one in the pond . They over winter outside in their pond . I just stop feeding them when the start to slow down . They'll bask in sunny days . I clean and do a water change out right before winter hits then do nothing all winter . In the spring I change the water and clean the filters . But for the most part it's daily feeding .
