Just got around to watching the video. Sully is no doubt an eating machine. He looks great and is getting the best of care.
I remember telling you a while back that I held back a couple babies from that clutch Sully was from. I kept one of them and it is a female. Sully sister's stats are pretty similar to Sully. She is 36 pounds and measures 17 inches.
There are some good genetics that also come into play besides the excellent care. I can't pick up their daddy anymore to weigh him, but he is almost 32 inches. He is a beast.
Great job with Sully. Keep it up. Sully will be in the 50 pound range soon enough!!! @Maro2Bear

Status: Not too many changes, but we continue to apply coconut oil once or twice weekly. Sully continues to put on a good pound or so each week. Very close to the 40 pound marker!

It is now a little more than a year ago since last SCL. As weight since then is almost four times as high ,and proportions almost the same, we must take the square root of a litte less than four, let us say 1.5.
12 inches SCL last year times 1.5 = 18 inches, conservatively in present SCL, as each linear dimension must be 50% greater to explain the present weight.

The male belonging to Lance he reports to be 32 inches, very heavy. Here we need to calculate the weight: He is 32:17 compared inches (Lance`s female) to the third potency(arghh) as heavy as the female 36 pounder he has. Approximately 6.5-7 times as heavy, meaning 220-250 pounds. I can understand he will not lift it! Assuming same proportions, of course.

It seems sulcatas are getting bigger. My guess is a combination of VERY good care, the big sudanese form is more or less purebred, and careful selection.
Nobody in my opinion should be ashamed of breeding for size. Predation in nature from man targets the big ones. In a couple of decades we will se 300
pounders or more.

LET US GET SCL`s

Status: Nice warm temps recently, but they were cut short by a Nor' Easter that came our way with below freezing temps, sleet and snow. Ruined DC's Cherry Blossoms and our early Spring, but the fresh new weeds and grass are up and adding to Sullys nutrition. Updated weight chart soon!

Status: After a very warm Winter and Spring, one last cold front moved into the DELMARVA area and stopped our early Spring. A nice day here and there, but still too cold for our Sully to go outside full time. One good thing is that the grass, weeds and even dandelion are starting to really sprout. We were able to pick a few handfulls of dandelion blooms. The dandelion bounty is near.

Greetings All! This weekend ( May 12 ) marks our Sully's 3rd Birthday celebrations! Where does the time fly? He arrived from @Lancecham in California in early June, but Sullys hatch date was about now! He's gone from a few ounces to well over 45 pounds! I hope to get an updated growth chart posted soon.

Here's a video of Sully enjoying his Birthday Dinner.
