Have any of you found ticks on your tortoises? I live in south Florida and my redfoot lives outdoors full time. I recently came across a photo of a snake covered in ticks and now I'm worried that my own little reptile could be at risk!! Are ticks something I should be concerned about?

Torts can get some ticks...usually on the fleshy smooth parts of their neck/legs---if you have dogs and they get ticks then your tort is also at risk....just give the once over from time to time....:D

Most tick species are pretty host specific. While it is physically possible for your tortoise to get a tick, it is not likely.

Thank you for your replies! We do have dogs and although she's never around them, I'll check her when I get home for spring break.
