OK everyone, this may sound strange but I have been using old tractor tires to keep my turtles and tortoises in during the daytime. If you lay them on there side they are heavy enough my herps cannot bury under, the inner lip I fill with water and most of the time half of the tire is in shade. This way I can move them all over my yard. I will post pictures soon. What do y'all think???

I think that is great as long as the area is large enough :) might not have the looks of a tortoise garden but as long as the torts are happy:)

Very good point....I try to move the tires to different areas day to day like where there is a clover patch or other green that are growing. Eventually I am going to make large outside enclosures but probably not until next summer when I'm not pregnant.

I figure any outside time is good. When they have 100% of attention I'll let them roam around the yard but I have to watch them very closely!
