He was very active on the grass, he went pretty far. I had to watch him of course, but its so fun seeing him so... exited. He also ate more than ive ever seen him, so ik ill be letting him graze more. Yet another beaked pet :).

A few pics above. I dont have a picture yet, but i think he like pets under his chin while bathing, as he relaxes his head and outstretches it. Of course pets are i gently run his tiny noggin, but hes getting very used to me.

No pics this time, i let him graze for about 30 min and took him in when i saw a hawk. probably stalking the doves on my lawn, but still. also my brother breeds lorikeets finches, doves, pheasants, and other birds so the hawks stalk those. tony had fun tho, keeps getting less and less afraid of me.

Tony has been wonderfully active. he eats a lot, hes been pooping regularly, and he seems happy. he's been running around, and flipping himself often, but its no worries. thanks to everyone on this forum who has given advice, as without you i wouldnt be giving tony a good home.

Ive been continuing his schedule, he seems to like neck rubs and pets more and more everyday. Hes actually not flipping as much, which is a relief. He seems to be pretty active, and hes munching away happily ever day. He also seems to be more tolerant of soaks, which ive been doing once a day. Any suggestions for fun things i could let him do?

I hate to be a "Debbie Downer", but your dog, no matter how good he/she is, will pick up your little guy with his teeth someday and break through the shell. I know this because it has happened to me and many others. The shell covering the scutes is about as thick as your finger nail. I was lucky and the one scute covering, that got lifted off, was amenable to gluing it back down. As my tort grew it stayed down and you couldn't tell it happened. I shed many tears that day, because I would never have imagined that my wonderful little dog would have done this. Now mind you it was not malicious in any way. I was cleaning out one of my enclosures and honestly I think my dog thought I was looking for the Tort. He seemed so proud of himself when he retrieved my little Tort, out of the Tortie Garden about 6 feet from me, and dropped him in front of me. I nearly died. My husband had the idea to glue down the thin shell. Lesson learned. No dogs around the Tortoises.

I only am letting them out at the same time when i'm watching them both. I'm scared of that happening. I only plan to let the be together when tony is bigger than her:). Thanks for the concern though. The only reason my dog doesn't eat him is because I don't let her - if I left them alone tony wouldn't exist.
